It's never a trip to Singapore if you've never been to Sentosa Island and Merlion Park, and so we were going to Sentosa on this day.
Took MRT again to reach Vivo City where you can take a monorail to Sentosa. Since it was Christmas Day, you can expect how crowded it was. Unfortunately though, the tickets to Universal Studios Singapore were sold out on that day and I realized that each adult ticket costs S$72.00! Well you can enter Genting Theme Park three times with that and that perhaps proves how great is Universal Studios Singapore.
We only managed to get into the train in the third round and I realized that Sentosa Monorail actually has three stations in the island itself! A very accessible tourist spots.
Walked around before we went to the giant Merlion at Sentosa. See the photo below to know how giant it is:
Inside this gigantic replica we were able to watch a video about the history of Merlion and Singapore and also took pictures at its mouth and head.
Next, I went through several thrill rides with my sisters, including:
- ParaJump - A five-story jump bungee style jump. Took me three tries before I actually jumped.
- MegaZip - A 450m long flying fox. Pretty bad one on this as my weight seemed to be unable to drag me to the ending point.
- Skyline Luge - A pretty cool downhill ride similar to go cart. But I really don't like what we had to do before riding it - riding a cable chair with minimal protection. Creepy.
Took Tiger Sky Tower after all the thrills and we was able to see the whole island in that 131m tall elevating structure. Here's some shots:

My nephew was wanting to enter the Underworld Park but since the service assistant stated that the seal show was full housed, my cousin decided to cancel the plan and went back home.

It was the last day where we had a real visit in Singapore and we went to Merlion Park finally! Took a bus ride to there and the compound around is really classy. Bought some ice-creams by the road side and guess what? Their ice-cream breads are really awesome! The vendor actually took out big ice-cream cubes and sliced them to be covered by the bread. Really big in size for the price of S$1.00.
Merlion was very near to the place where we bought ice-creams and we reached before we finished our desserts. It was quite a great view from there as you can see below:
After all those photo sessions, we planned to walk all the way to Marina Bay Sands. Rested at Esplanade during the journey. My sister managed to capture the cute faces of my niece and nephew:
They are really cute. Lol. It was quite a long walk to reach Marina Bay Sands in which one of the casino in Singapore is located. It is an ultra-luxurious shopping mall in which you can only see those prestigious brands like Ferragamo, Ferrari, Harley Davidson etc..
There was a show at ground floor area - a very special pole dance with the dancers attaching themselves to the tip of the poles and swung here and there! Very unique and entertaining. High class area means high class shows? Lol.
Merlion was very near to the place where we bought ice-creams and we reached before we finished our desserts. It was quite a great view from there as you can see below:
Merlion - mermaid's body, lion's head.
Fantastic view of financial district just behind it.
Esplanade - Singapore's theatre hall. Some called it "The Durian" or 榴梿壳.
My favourite building of all! Marina Bay Sands - a ship-like garden supported by triplet-towers.
Distant view of the financial district.
A Ferrari replica outside of Ferrari shop.
And this's a Harley.
Went to Suntec City after that but nothing really impressed me. I discovered that the clothes at Singapore are rather cheap for Singaporeans though as they can sell as low as S$5 for a tee. Same goes to electronic gadgets, where they can get a good-spec laptops in three digits.
And so we went back to my cousin's home and took a good rest before we went back Johor on the other day...

Departed at 10am to the bus stop and reached Johor around the noon. Will definitely miss my adorable niece and nephew much. Had a stop at my uncle's house and also his wife's shop as my mum chit-chatted with her.
My dad planned to have a stop at Machap during the journey back home but unfortunately it was not opening. So we drove all the way along the federal road until we reached Yong Peng...
My father noticed an otak-otak shop (Ah Jie Otak-Otak) there so he drove into the shop-house area for a break. Ordered 30 otak-otaks and they tasted great. Much better than the ones that I had tried at Muar years ago. There are also various delicacies sold there including Tan Kim Hock and San Shu Gong products, noodles, biscuits etc. so my mum bought lots of them.
Went home after that and our trip officially ended.
Conclusions about the trip:
- There's no way Malaysia can match Singapore in the next 100 years as our leaders calibre and theirs are in different classes.
- The development at there is so organized and eye-soothing unlike our messy Kuala Lumpur. Those LRT poles are disgusting.
- It's so convenient to live at there and cars are really luxurious expenditures at there.
For me, it's a dream place to live and work so I'll definitely try to find a job there after graduation. Sorry guys if you think I'm not patriotic enough.
